These sound really fun by and !
Are there some southside trees 🌲🌳 you might 📸 when out and about?… what role do trees have in making attractive and enjoyable places to be in Glasgow’s southside? Are there streets and places named after trees too?…

St Thenue, aka St Enoch. The mother of St Mungo. This mural is by artist Mark Worst at the gable on the tenement facing up Abercromby Street. The shawl has 29 motifs in tribute to each of the 29 women who were killed in the nearby Templeton Carpet Factory disaster in 1889.

Spring is not too far off…

Which trees in this area do you feel a connection with? How to celebrate them? Or maybe se new trees?…

This on 15 minute cities from has popped up again on BBC website.
About this time last year I tried to explore the concept in practice in Glasgow- thinking about what stuff and spaces could, and should, be accessible by walking and cycling...

There are, of course, many trees 🌳 to encounter along this route. Including around the grounds of the itself. What histories have those trees observed? Who and what have they seen pass up and down the river over the years?…

Did you know that in English folklore, hazel trees were a symbol of good fortune?
It was believed that a hazel rod could repel evil and was used by fortune tellers to predict someone's destiny. 🌳

The Argyle Street Ash Tree, Glasgow.
Accidently planted in 1850, this tree has been a feature of the west end for longer than the Kelvin Hall (1927), the Kelvingrove Art Gallery (1901), Glasgow University (1870), and Kelvingrove Park (1852).

Been lovely to see all the warm, nostalgia inspired by this one tree. A timely reminder that every tree tells a story and our responsibility to ensure we have the street trees of the future

An interesting thread on a tree in a Glasgow street.
Are we planting the street trees that will become talking points and landmarks over the next 170 years?

The community woods at Malls Mire are a special type of woodland called 'wet woodland'.
We have areas that flood every so often and this makes it absolutely stunning - specially on a frosty and sunny winter day ❄️🌞

Sometimes I wonder if my grandchildren will visit all the trees I've drawn. To see how they've changed. To see if they're all okay. I'd love that.
