Biggest tragedy for Israel is Bibi’s lack of strategic, long term thinking for his country. We all know he hates Iran and the nuclear deal but nobody (including himself) knows what his solution is. Strong rhetoric but no answers. Good piece James.

Great example of the Israeli - Saudi transactional relationship. Hope Israel understands they are just being used by Saudi Arabia and its Sunni allies.

A laissez-passer is only to be used whilst on official business, to signify your status to the host authorities. You should still keep your national passport with you, just in case. Main benefit is when traveling to a 3rd country, where your nationality might be a problem.

Not sure offered the ‘reform’ option, only remain. It was about getting the UK’s house in order, rather than full scale reform of the EU.

Huge mistake by to allow to be so degraded. Sad fact is that Strategic Affairs Ministry and Diaspora Affairs Ministry undermine core MFA role and serve only short term, domestic political concerns. 🇮🇱

It’s been getting worse and worse. Last year in Brussels I met a senior Israeli diplomat who was unable give me a business card because they couldn’t afford them. His base salary was less than a junior secretary in the UK embassy.
