to the teens and those in their 20s, you are young. remember that. yes, many of you have experienced so much that maybe you shouldn't have, but you are young. you have so much more to do, so much more to learn & grow into. you have time & a whole life ahead of you. live ur life

When you’re used to shrinking back, standing up can feel like you’re doing too much. Try to get used to taking up space. You’re worthy. You don’t have to fade into the background anymore.

Is it me or are we living in an alternate universe where the President hasn’t addressed us yet. Like this is wild 😳.

Rest is a public service. When you show up exhausted and burned out, it doesn’t just affect you—it affects the people around you. Rest, friends.

It's not rude/offensive, if the divide already exists and you are just pointing it out. The problem is that this reality check is making you uncomfortable and irritated. No one likes to be shown the mirror or give up privilege. My thoughts on

I am a (recovering) colonized being, I was born on colonized Akan land. There is no white person on this planet who should ever talk to be about decolonization until they get to know the engulfing fear it means to live the way I do.

Being a product of a colonized land means having to listen to French Presidents + British Prime Ministers speak empty promises + fake ass statements of solidarity when most of the chaos happening on our continent is because of their violent and limiting colonial paradigms.

Let me help y'all understand the paradigm of being a product of colonized land: It means crying yourself to sleep as you watch Lagos literally burn, and feeling every single bullet even when your body is not there.

How can so many white people use (and claim to understand) the term decolonization when they have never imagined what it means to be colonized?

My O'level teachers thought I would become a doctor or engineer simply because I performed well in sciences, I settled for arts b'se I was passionate about them & passed them with less effort. Don't take hard life-long choices to impress people, your life is yours.

And if you deep it yeah, turning us as black people against each other is one of the classic tactics played by the west. They don’t lift a finger to destroy us, they just facilitate us to destroy ourselves. And I hate that it works every single time😡😡😞

Every time we have a crisis on the continent you realise more and more how toothless and useless the AU really is. 😓
