(Now I'm thinking that a Y<>A swap, then a separate A<>B swap afterwards, feels like the way to go - but whatever the final arrangement is, I think the key bit is showing the logic to the player visually)

Maaaybe there were some fiddly edge cases in code, but I suspect clarity reasons would've made the delay the way to go regardless (especially in a first-person game where one of the NPCs could easily be off-screen) may know!

Gut feeling is just "player swaps with A": 1. domino doesn't usually affect movement (i.e. if A moves it doesn't move B) 2. it's much simpler to understand 3. seems more useful to the player, enabling them to do cool intentional things

Hehe, great :) Telling the audience was just a spur of the moment thing - probably me trying to be a little more casual in an otherwise rather dry talk - but whatever works 👍

Tweets / articles / indie game flavours of the week can do it because their job is to be of the moment, but bigger things made to stand the test of time can’t. Armando Iannucci and House Of Cards writers have said similar things, and it’s why they don’t touch it (directly)

You’re forgetting that GTA games take 5 years to make, and stay best sellers for the 5 years until the next one. His being wary of satirising trump (who hits new lows every month) and dooming the game to be dated on release makes total sense for what the game is

Life drawing for the first time in a while, really happy with these. The last two are single line drawings, the last one we had to do without being able to see our paper

Maybe my favourite because it's both cool and unnecessary: in Dishonored if you kill the guy who does the Dunwall speaker announcements, he is replaced by a woman voiced by Carrie Fisher in subsequent missions:
