I implore all faculty out there with the seniority to do so to push back at administrators and fellow faculty who think we should be comparing current productivity with pre-COVID standards.

This is not a world where we can "be productive" like there is no pandemic going on, like there isn't a global and national crisis. To act like we can just ignore it and keep on doing what always happens is irresponsible and disrespectful of faculty as people.

So, maybe not that extreme but as I've said before, we are in for a reckoning when it comes to reviews in academia. No one should be penalized for surviving during a pandemic, especially with kids. If this means saying that's it is OK you didn't get much done, so be it.

Yup, and any review committee/administrator who has a problem with this should be put in the nearest airlock.

Or, worse yet, you win but scorch the Earth behind you. I mean, this is literally the Matthew 25:31-46 situation for all you who have decided that Trump is the religious option. Realize that harming others to get what you want is not Christian.

You can live your life two ways: work with others for the greater good. Maybe you don't get everything you want, but society is uplifted. Or, you can work only for yourself and your needs and likely end up with nothing, bringing society down with you. The latter is Trump.

Quite literally, the Trump campaign is operating solely for Trump himself & his ego, not for the good of his voters, the country or anything other than Trump. If you vote for him, you are enabling the baby tyrant coward who surrounded the health of the country to satiate himself

There are two people in the world: those who think "it's a lovely day, why not enjoy nature" and those who think "it's a lovely day, I better turn on my loud leaf blower and terrorize the neighborhood for a few hours to rid my yard of any and all evidence of seasons."

Hey look, a press release that might have mentioned Trump more than the volcano it was about.
