IMO, a better way to redistribute $ is to broaden equity ownership to everyone (use Facebook? here's equity) rather than via gov't
We underestimate the psychological effects of equity
Align everyone on the way up (unity) instead of fighting for scraps on the way down (divide)

Of course, FB or current incumbents likely wouldn't give equity today, but, when the infrastructure is ready, future upstarts will -- not out of sheer benevolence, but as a tactic to bootstrap growth:

Agree w/ equity & democratic ownership models - they're vital.
But why not both? Redistributive taxes aren't all about distributing scraps after the fact.
They change incentive landscape that leads to pre-tax outcomes

Usually comes with a third party enforcer that imposes extra costs (eg middle men) and is hard to contain, led alone remove

@PropsProject is exactly that - a new way for existing apps (not dapps) to reward their contributing users with a financial stake in the network they help build. Nearly 1M token holders have been earning and using Props to date metrics.propsproject.io

You'd really need to abolish the Accredited Investor standard to make this work.
But that's a good thing.
