You were born in that pile, Chet. You benefit from it, and it shows in this reply. You appear to believe you’re entitled to a presumption of goodness until proven otherwise. That’s inaccurate. Separate yourself by earning trust without placing a burden on me to give it to you.

One day white men will cease to be a presumptive authority, presumptively correct, and presumptively normal. They will probably kill a lot of us over it.

Slow burn is simmering exhaustion. Antagonized rage and chronic defeat nipping at your foundations til you turn to ash. Slow churn is a building storm. A barometric tightening in your chest. Crackling electrons, swirling momentum. The rage of women is a tempest. Tide is rising.

Walker, who are the parties to this imaginary liability case you’re trying? _______ v. ________ Who are those individuals or entities

Warren is a complex transaction lawyer who chose to teach the law and publish some of the most comprehensive analyses of consumer protection in bankruptcy law available. On top of that she managed to successfully take on some clients. What is this story other than awesome?

Why is that newsworthy at all? I don’t think that’s what you’re doing. It seems to me, quite clearly and per your OP, that you are insinuating a conflict between Warrens consulting for Chemical and her being “for the people,” when no such moral conflict existed.

This is not what being a bankruptcy consultant is, Walker, or a bankruptcy negotiator, litigator, trustee, creditor, etc. Civil lit attorneys (who do the thing you’re talking about) all over twitter are wondering whether you made it through at least a week of Commercial Paper.

I want to know in what possible sense Corning avoided liability. Paying out claims drove them to insolvency. Warren assisted with the bankruptcy filing to allow plaintiffs to continue to collect ahead of some creditors rather than get nothing.

Walker - did you actually read what she did? "In this case, Elizabeth served as a consultant to ensure adequate compensation for women who claimed injury from silicone breast implants who otherwise might not have received anything when Dow Corning filed for bankruptcy."
