Matt Taibbi CLEARLY notes here the investigation was into Biden's son, not Biden (which makes sense bc the record shows Biden took actions to combat corruption). Which says he thinks it's cool for Trump to use non-DOJ resources to investigate people who aren't even on the ballot.

[Sets timer to see how long it takes Taibbi's sock puppets to arrive to defend him.]

This sounds like the least generous reading of the tweet in question

Let's see. The tweet reflects Trump held up aid to get this "investigation," which by itself is proof Taibbi's aware Trump was using non-DOJ resources. AND it notes the target was Hunter. By "least generous" you mean "accurate" depiction of Taibbi's apology for corruption?

It’s worth noting the there are no extradition treaties between the US and Ukraine. So a Ukrainian investigation of Hunter Biden can have had no purpose save a political one benefiting Trump. If Hunter were a crook, the remedy is the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the US DOJ.

1. Oddly enough, Trump has been attempting to kill the FCPA for months, & despite owning AG Barr's ass, never bothered to pursue the issue through proper channels. He didn't pursue it until Hunter was no longer involved w/ Burisma & Joe Biden announced his candidacy for POTUS.

In Matt's case he spent a considerable amount of time in Russia and some of his actions there have raised questions. I think there's a smaller scale Lindsey Graham scenario at work.

Taibbi went off the rails in what must have been record time from his heyday with RS. I still struggle to understand how he went from A to B like he did.

He just hates the US government so much overall that he thinks everyone is bad and they are all the same. Greenwald went down the same path too a while back.

Taibbi's coverage and commentary can be traced to his many years in Russia.
