there’s no talking to my trump supporting relatives. i’ve tried, it’s no use. but i did spend part of my day explaining to some men in my life that they could be angrier, louder, doing more. i think change is possible.

they will take our reproductive rights just as the environment collapses & guns will be widely available & the people in power will use religious extremism to justify all of it & it will become mad max fury road before our fucking eyes.

I’m beyond upset about the passing of new abortion bans in Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, and Ohio. This is Unconstitutional and Abhorrent. We can not tolerate this attack on women’s fundamental rights.

Abortion bans aren’t just about controlling women’s bodies. They’re about controlling women’s sexuality. Owning women. From limiting birth control to banning comprehensive sex ed, US religious fundamentalists are working hard to outlaw sex that falls outside their theology.

Alabama just made abortion’s a felony. From the moment of conception, you can’t have an abortion. It doesn’t matter if you’re raped. You have to have the baby. If you abort? 99 years in prison. That’s more time than the rapist would get. I’m physically sick. This is disgusting.

So let's recap: → sex ed is discouraged → birth control is impossible to access → abortion and miscarriage are considered felonies → felons can't vote

In Alabama, Ohio, & Georgia you can't harvest organs from someone who died w/o their consent—but you can force an 11-year-old rape victim to have her rapists child w/o her consent. In short, even a corpse in AL, OH, & GA has more rights over its body than do women & girls.😳

What Alabama is doing is blatantly unconstitutional and disrespects the fundamental right a woman has to make decisions about her own body. I say to Gov. Ivey: Veto this cruel bill. Stop the attack on women’s rights.

For anyone horrified by Alabama’s proposed abortion ban, or calling it Gilead. Look closer to home! Northern Ireland does not permit abortions even in cases of rape, incest or fatal foetal abnormality. The ONLY exception is endangerment to a woman’s life.

Alabama abortion law is utterly appalling. But remember- women in Northern Ireland still have no access to legal abortion care in their own country. We cannot condemn Alabama while women in the UK continue to be denied access. Email your MP now 👉

The Alabama ban on nearly all abortions—including in cases of rape & incest—w/99 years in prison as punishment, will not save lives It will embolden abusive men, empower rapists, & cause more pain & death via unsafe abortions If Gov Ivey has any regard for women she will veto

This anti-abortion law in Georgia is so upsetting, inhumane, and blatantly demonstrative of a hatred of women, a disregard for our rights, bodies, mental health, and essentially a punishment for rape victims, forcing to carry the baby of their rapist.

It's fascinating to see people argue that women won't really be punished if abortion is illegal. Here are some things that have *already* happened to women despite Roe:

The issue with racist speech is not "offence". Trust me, PoC have developed thicker skins than that The issue is that racist speech reproduces and entrenches racist thought, which sustains racist acts & racist *structures* The issue is not "offence" but *harm*. Serious harm
