A low income rate shouldn't be predicated on the basis that you will labour for free. The conference organisers extend the low income rate to colleagues from 'disadvantaged countries'.There is no attempt here to address the barriers to participation here. It's vile & undignified.

I’m tired of being asked if metoo has gone too far. 80% of women report being sexually harassed, 80% who are willing to call it that - and there’s no reward in doing so. We have confused men’s entitlement to reputation with our entitlement to exist without fear and humiliation.

One of my favourite things is my mum volunteering with a local archaeology dig because she’s into history. Recently she fell into the test pit and nearly crushed a medieval skeleton. Honestly have not stopped laughing since she came home.

I agree I think learning how to care for someone during a seizure is vital. I feel first aid should be taught in all schools. I’m doing okay lovely -I’m in a place where I want to raise more awareness

I feel it should be mandatory to learn how to care for someone during a seizure - so they can be safe. How many of us know how to do that ??

But the news of has again highlighted to me the unpredictability of the condition. It’s hard to forget when they have been stable & well. His death has awoken a lot of my anxiety again about what could happen in a future seizure

Still saddened greatly by Cameron Boyce death. It felt too close to home . Living with a close family member who has epilepsy has been a challenging and painful experience to live through for them and for us. I feel it’s made me incredibly strong and my family.

Word of the day: "whelm" - to overturn or capsize a hollow vessel (a boat, a heart); to bury by wave, flood, storm, avalanche (cf the Old English *hwelfan, to 'upheave'). Thus our "overwhelmed", "underwhelmed".

Amazing to see the amount of emerging talent in the Northwest. Festivals and showcases all over the place. Also wonderful to see everyone being so supportive of each other, we need to remember that we are all colleagues, not competitors, and continue to show that same support x
