The universe is non-deterministic you can pretend that this is not the case - but ultimately abstractions that try to fix this will fail. Best to accommodate non-determinism in the design if possible. Undoing bad decisions later is often a good design decision

The real world is concurrent- so if you write a program modeling this is you have to exactly represent this (Carl Hewitt calls this physics modeling) this is easy in a concurrent language but artificially difficult in a sequential language
