Creating this lesson – with support from many wonderful colleagues – was my first assignment at Desmos. Many months and iterations later, it's out there in the world 👇 (for free) 😁

love this idea. has he tried the new "Reverse Contrast" mode in the graphing calculator, and is that helpful? We can work on adding a similar mode to Activities

We don't intend to reduce the flexibility but absolutely do intend to improve some individual cases (as we recently did for exponential regressions)

With apologies -- we absolutely intend to improve this. The way we do regressions right now was coded for flexibility rather than efficiency (we can accept _any_ form of a relation, rather than short list of available forms).

Pre-2010, 50g of crack-cocaine got you a mandatory minimum 10 years in prison. Post-2010, that threshold was raised to 280g, which resulted in this .... uhhh suspicious drug seizure graph. h/t

Have said it before and will say it again -- this is one of the best PD opportunities I've ever seen or been a part of. If you're a first-year teacher (of any curriculum) or CPM teacher with at least 5 years experience: Check. It. Out.

Right now if the numbers are 1 and 0 it counts it, but if it's 0 and 1 it doesn't. figure it should be symmetric:

Today I visited the "Women Making with Math" art exhibit put together . It was incredibly inspiring and also humbling to see some of my graphs displayed among such fantastic art. And I left with a new mini-obsession. Making graphs like these:

nope -- everything with grading happens locally and would be totally unrelated to the volume of students in the room. could be that complex CL would take a while to resolve (or could be hiding subtle bugs in the CL script)

Whoa just played with the first couple screens -- such a cool use of randomization and feedback and an awesome context. Have you used this with your students? how did they respond to it?

Hopefully! Still some really fundamental issues with security on android, but we're investigating as we speak.

To me, a crisis with the water supply somewhere else in the US feels like something I'm happy for my federal tax dollars to contribute to knowing it'd be reciprocated in a local crisis (earthquakes? fires?). But very fair to discuss how local the responsibility should be.
