And, once again, the book of James gives me a good wake up call. 😬 Today, as I meet with my brothers and sisters to sing praises to God, may I continue to guard my heart and my tongue from speaking (or thinking) negatively of others.

Whether we read about God in the Old or New Testament, or simply spot Him at work in our own lives, He is the same: faithful, just, and loving. We are so blessed to be so loved by someone so awesome!

If Jesus didn't complain when He received a life infinitely worse than He deserved, why should we complain when all of us get a life infinitely better than we deserve?

Lord, open my eyes to see beyond the veneer of outward appearances so I can extend kindness and mercy to all. Teach me to love others in such a way that they get a taste of Christ’s great love, and seek Him!

Popular culture calls me to trust in my own strength, my own wisdom, and my own determination. Jesus calls me to crucify that “self” and become like Him. As I transform into His image, people will see His love & power at work. But if I refuse to transform, what will they see?

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1:5-6

Your posts are so encouraging! When we put ourselves out there, someone will find something to criticize. Even Jesus—the perfect teacher—had constant criticism. Keep up the good work for the Lord! Praying for you to be encouraged!

I get to worship God this morning! I get to sing His praise with my brothers & sisters. I get to serve a God who loves, comforts, & treasures me even though He has many other amazing children The attitude of “I get to” is much sweeter to God than the attitude of “I have to.”
