and need to retract the 1st two sentences. The claim that the "the value of Bitcoin "has dropped" over the last few months is just false. Look at a chart. is up over the "last few months" and one of the best performing assets of 2019 and 2020.

I'm not sure I fully agree about it losing steam. * The mining rate is at an all-time high. * 1 year ago, the price was $3k. 6 months ago, $12k. Currently around $9k. * Trading volume has held mostly steady for the past 2 years. I am skeptical of any practical layman future.

It reflects two things 1) market doesn’t perceive that all the new defi products like or are really decentralized. And/or 2) not many decentralized off-ramps have been created for defi products. 3) if it’s not widely used by “criminals” it is not decentralized.

had good piece on social contract of . It’s hard to recreate them in other crypto currencies. And let’s face the truth key value proposition of crypto is censorship resistance aka criminals can use it.
