Living legend. brought Brian to the TLJ set and work stopped for a solid hour while he told stories about working on 2001.

I think also ‘Ashes & Diamonds’, ‘A Bout De Soufflé’ and ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ all had a profound effect on me.

Speaking of which, when I was watching the Oscars, I did think that, much as I admire Randy Newman, I would have much rather heard Jessie Buckley belting out ‘Glasgow’ from Wild Rose and stealing the whole damn show. Missed opportunity!

In honor of Jeff Fowler making his feature debut with SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, I’m doing a thread of animators-turned-live-action directors. One of the earliest is Frank Tashlin, who went from making Looney Tunes cartoons to eye-popping live-action satires. Side-by-side comparison:

I agree with him. Even though the first and second are stellar too. But 'Stranded' is my fav of a very strong run of albums.

I absolutely adore this song and had to play it three times in a row. Just the best and from my favourite Roxy Album too:

Photos from the aforementioned Bondathon in 2006. We watched all 20 films in the series back to back with no sleep. The third act of Moonraker almost broke me. By Die Another Day I was so brain-fried that the invisible car seemed like genius.

I just think that being in love - today of all days - is really obvious, very tacky and too commercial for me.
