I actually went to a conference in Seattle where they did indeed give out conference-branded umbrellas as swag. Felt like a good fit for the city and its typical weather. :)

...If something in the back of your head tells you you don't have anything to offer as a conference speaker, that might be imposter syndrome lying to you. Talk out your ideas with others you trust. They'll help you see the value in what you have to share.

...Impostor syndrome makes people question what they have to offer and can cause them to self-select out of proposing to speak at events. And that means we lose important, valuable insights from the community.
