there are a few system minimum requirements to get the video option. for me, i had to update Zoom to a newer client version

Zoom Pro Tip 4: Just because you can video conference, doesn't mean you should. Your video hook ups might be a lot of fun and techie-cool, but they hog bandwidth. Not every Zoom conference needs to be a video conference. Your voice and a screen share should be all you need.

Guess what, I got Jehovah Witness relatives and they’re using Zoom and it’s, like you said, eating bandwith and making the WiFi slow way down
