An awful man, but you gotta hand it to him, a master at letting his enemies make mistakes.

How does one at the pre-PMF start up not do this?

Isn’t the concept that it’s more like a natural preference than a choice?
So it’s impossible for an early bird to start going to bed late and waking up late.
Moreso, that if left to their own devices they will go to bed early and rise earlier than others? pic.twitter.com/yUfkiWPlqH

I empathised with this tweet 2 years ago and since have started writing in pen in books to get over it.
As of yesterday I have a new phobia to overcome 🔪📖

Here’s a robust psychological effect that does not wilt under replication scrutiny. Kurt Lewin noticed it in the 1930s: making public commitments “freezes” attitudes in place. So saying something dumb makes you a bit dumber. It becomes harder to correct yourself. Tweeters beware. pic.twitter.com/cXoujA4VUY

Great post. Are there any similar post-mortems of start ups that died like this?

This happens in tennis too - the aggregate of the general public are often better at predicting outcomes of tournaments than pundits.
Punters use the availability heuristic, pundits pay too much attention to noise.

Are terms that seem antiquated because these major cities are necessarily so diverse.
Hong Kongers seems to me the exception, but they have an obvious immediate threat to their way of life.

Most independence movements are built against an external threat to “our way of life” - 1st person plural.
But a majority of people in cities are recent migrants, 1st, 2nd 3rd gen. Who have cultural ties to somewhere else.
Hard to develop a the necessary 1st person plural...
