You're one of the most enthusiastic, genuine, big-hearted, wonderful people I've come across. Hoping your confidence is coming back quickly. I don't understand why people feel the need to cut others down, but there are plenty of us out here who love what you do!

The Murdoch empire is already laying the groundwork for a message of adaptation & not prevention. Astonishing that one man can have contributed so greatly to the destruction of an entire planet. But let’s not play the “blame game” #AustraliaBurning #ActOnClimate #ClimateCrisis pic.twitter.com/p8c6r6sczZ

Thanks Becky. I think you're right about the being substantial differences in the green movement in oz and UK... though one thing in common in both places is that the greens have little power. Part of why the "hazard reduction" narrative is so frustrating (or malevolent)

One of my favourite memories from university was seeing Conway talk about the look-and-say sequence, and also holding the end of a rope in a "rational tangle square dance". Blew my mind then, and still does now!

What individual actions can I take in the face of this? I feel a combination of rage and futility. I've seen friends who are *ecologists* defending Murdoch bullshit about greens being at fault. twitter.com/bencjenkins/st…

Hahaha - yes. I've got a tendency to understate things!
By "a bit of a shake up", I really mean "burnt to the ground".

Enjoyed this thread and @ole_b_peters talk. Seems like more evidence that mainstream econ needs a bit of a shake up. twitter.com/jmanooch/statu…

It'd be pretty cool to see how including temporal structure would then affect the results (maybe via an LSTM as Emily suggested, or an attention based model)

To start with, you could just do the mod 12 yourself, and use a 'bag of notes' approach (i.e. ignoring the note order). I'm guessing that would get you most of the way there - perhaps mixing up e.g. A min and C maj.
