Yes, you'll need a subscription to watch (unless a friend is generous and kind enough to lend you their cable provider's password) which may or may not be how I was able to watch.

The Pose playlist on Spotify is getting me through my workday, especially after I stayed up until 1 a.m. to watch the first (heartbreaking & entertaining) episode of season 2 last night. If you're not watching, what are you doing with your life?

If your library doesn't have access, DM me if you'd like to write this piece & I'll help you out. There's more to say from the data from this study, so that hopefully might find a home soon. As always, thank you to the participants who were so gracious of their time & insights.

Chase Catalano & I interviewed 5 grad students who were the sole point of contact for LGBT student services over the span of a year. Their experiences? Well, you can read for yourselves. Our piece is now out in the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education:

Starting this Fall, we’ll also be doing an APA and strengthening your writing session for our students that will be recorded and then posted on our department’s YouTube site to give some additional resources beyond our campus’s writing center.

For our first class in the program, I also do APA quizzes - 3 of them - prior to their first papers being due with the expectation that they use what they learn from the quizzes and our subsequent follow-up discussion on them in those papers. It also helps scaffold a bit.

In some classes, I do some ongoing APA review and will pull examples from students’ work as a worksheet and then have them format the examples properly either on their own or in pairs/groups. Then I have them use those as examples to do the rest of peer review.

My reward for finishing grading this weekend was allowing myself to binge watch season 1 of Pose. Sorry I’m late to the party (no cable), but my tears and cheers at my TV were totally worth the watching. Brilliant show. Incredible cast.

Just an infection. Nothing contagious or concerning but have some lovely antibiotics that hopefully will help me over the next week or so. :)

Anxious person + current ailment + WebMD = imminent death and concern. My life in a nutshell right now, so choosing a wiser course and going to visit my doctor.
