I had the good fortune of meeting Aaron at the IL Holocaust Museum. This is a tremendous loss. But his spirit and story will live on as part of the museum's phenomenal new Take A Stand Center.

Here's the difference between IL and a real Democratic state - in Massachusetts assault weapons are banned. In IL, assault weapons bans are banned. We deserve better.

We could have passed this law in 2013 or 2014 when we had a Dem Gov and Dem supermajorities in House and Senate. Instead, we prohibited assault weapons bans. Begs the question - is IL really a Blue State?

Today, the IL Appellate Court ordered the opinion in Madigan's frivolous ballot objection be issued as a published decision. This will prevent future frivolous objections of this nature. Not the ultimate victory I sought, but it removes a weapon from the Machines's arsenal.
