Going to be off Twitter and my usual blogs and so on for February. Been a while since my last month off, feels about time for another one.

Ha, I thought I had read that too, but probably not very carefully! I do remember that even his recent stuff is still in the same cogsci paradigm as the bananaphone, which is why I was surprised.

Yes it was a very indexical, high-context reference! It was from this but 's summary covers the important bit.

I suppose at least they avoided silly bananaphone mechanisms that can't work. But it does seem like a big missed opportunity.

Yeah they're definitely highly related so maybe I should phrase it the other way round - what are the differences, if there are any?

This is great and has made a few things fall into place for me. Now thinking about the connection between indexicality and my own favourite bit of horrible jargon, cognitive decoupling. Both are to do with amount of context but how much do they overlap?

I think I like 'distributed' even better, but ironically can't quite articulate why. Both are good though

Yeah I kind of want an alt for these reasons. I'm glad I merged my twitter/blog back into my irl identity but there were advantages to being an unnamed bucket too.
