I agree. It’s been 5 months of seeing covid positive patients and doing high-risk aerosol generating procedures every week. Why have I still not been fit tested? Why is my safety as a frontline doctor not a urgent issue?

Doesn’t look like VIC numbers will decline for 1-2 weeks. It’s all about the R value, which hasn’t got to <1.0, and lag from tighter lockdown measures. With deaths lagging cases by a few weeks, the next month will be a tough time for VIC & Australia.

Melbourne doctors - has anyone’s hospital given them a letter of travel authorisation? Will hospital ID be okay? Asking for an absolute idiot of a doctor who chooses to drive an hour each way every day.

Come on people of Melbourne, be better. 1 in 4 positive cases NOT HOME is taking the piss, whilst HCWs are literally risking their lives and falling sick trying to look after you

All class. Such a tough job fronting up day after day to answer questions with patience, warmth and honesty. It's how leadership should be.

Nice one. Our colleagues at Alfred found on a recent meta analysis that regular consumption of coffee might actually be protective against heart rhythm disorders

Saw this article pop up and thought ‘the last thing I need in 2020 is conclusive evidence my caffeine addiction is killing me’. Great news everyone! Consumption of coffee does not increase the risk of cardiovascular disease or cancers.

Every year at my school’s pre health conference, I give the “professionalism” talk. The audience is predominantly Black and Latinx pre med students and they have so many important ?s The talk is broad, but specifically covers (1) hair (2) photos and (3) social media.

I had a patient in clinic a while ago who was on amiodarone, methotrexate and had an aviary of birds and I almost passed out with excitement. Your patient has TB though.

A tip re PPE use in back of house hospital areas Having your mask off for a prolonged period in an open plan workspaces because you’ve “having a coffee”, while simultaneously chatting to colleagues, is not going to help. I’m tired of being the “please put on your mask” person.
