From a small town girl in the south to a successful reporter in DC, I always intended to be a change maker! There was no way that I wasn't gonna be involved - trailblazing was in my blood from the roots of my ancestors!

Senator Harris’s performance at the debate was an example of EVERY women’s fight for equality in the workplace. I can remember times when my voice/talent wasn’t regarded because a man was speaking. Thank you Senator Harris for standing your ground! A indeed!

Do you know that Hallie Quinn Brown, born to enslaved parents, became the leader of the National Association of Colored Women — whose 300k members became the nation’s largest political organization of Black women in it's time. She was a pivotal !

Never despise small beginnings! To all my young out there, your voice at your school newspapers is a voice for change! I started at my school newspaper and went on to do amazing work. As the world changes before our eyes, write your journey and tell your stories.
