Someone in my Facebook group said that c section babies should have cranial osteopathy (I think that’s what it’s called) because of reflex problems 😂

2/ like my eldest boys never crawled. The retained reflexes are supposed to underpin the sensory pyramid which is why OT for SPD can plateau as it’s likened to sticking a plaster on & not addressed the underlying issues

1/ You can check they’re retained by looking at clips on YouTube. I did that before paying out for an assessment which was necessary to get movement therapy on the EHCP. I find it really interesting & makes sense, particularly if a child has missed out a development stage

Sounds interesting, I imagine most of us with kids that won’t get to bed will try anything though.

We’ve been doing retained reflexes therapy for the last few months which I thought was working but summer holidays seem to have really set us back. I might see if there’s any possibility of having someone come into our home to do therapy at the next AR to help transfer skills

Thank you. We’ve had weekly speech and language and OT for the last 6 years for my 13 year old son so I’m really disappointed that we’ve literally got nowhere. My 7 year old is the same & ive got to have eyes in the back of my head. So frustrating

Apart from dilated pupils do you think there’s a sudden increase in blood pressure? It’s like I need an alarm, an actual sound for them, so they can gain awareness. I know all about the flight/fight response, but often triggers are not building up but happen instantly

I probably won’t explain this very well but if you imagine a cat asleep, then something upsets it, it’s pupils dilate and it attacks. This is what happens with my kids. Their pupils dilate and they lash out. I need to know how to stop that moment

I think I fooled myself that OT was working when it was the WiFi keeping sensory seeking behaviour in check. 6 years of weekly OT, the WiFi box thing dies (2 year old son killed it) & it’s like back to square one.

I think our local offer was designed to look business like with little thought of the end user. I wanted pictures and graphics (I was consulted as a token parent), but it’s text heavy and confusing, hard to navigate

I’ve had other kids go through year 1 & none of them did dance breaks, so not sure if this is standard practice now

My XR is 239g (I have a light weight case) iPhone 6 is 149g. I use XR with both hands, iPhone 6 with one. I don’t have EDS but weak joints. I love the XR but because of the facial recognition & bigger display

I’m just wondering how contrived an observation on my 6 year old daughter was for by a psychologist visiting class. It says my daughter was losing concentration, staring at the floor, rocking backwards & forwards & then the class did a dance break 😂

I have heard of the Qb test, we are in limbo regarding a dx for my 6 year old daughter as school apparently don’t see any problems (although when she was being observed & losing concentration in a maths lesson the teacher made the class have a dance break).

Do most schools have 5 minutes dance breaks half way through a maths lesson in year 1?

Just had an email with a trillion forms to fill out (ok 3!) plus all the other paperwork I need to do. My brain is scrambled, it’s the school holidays. So back to playing spider solitaire it is 😂
