An updated version of our (@hakha_most @iagarwal2 @daltonconley @jkpritch and @molly_przew) work on the factors affecting the performance of polygenic scores--beyond genetic ancestry—is accepted and now up @eLife elifesciences.org/articles/48376 [thread] pic.twitter.com/4PHQXiQJwm

Yes, there are a lot of different models of this (we cite a lot of them), and it's a robust conclusion under all of them that Fst ~= Qst in expectation under neutral evolution. This is not equivalent to the Kevin Mitchell statement @aldretcha is criticizing.

"Measures of IQ...are...contaminated by environmental effects before birth and during infancy. Polygenic scores for IQ are free of that contamination."
Yeah, definitely never seen a polygenic score contaminated by environmental effects before. I foresee no problems whatsoever. pic.twitter.com/PICwkgY2N3

There is only one iron law of academic publishing: If you are in the US and publish in a UK-based journal, the page proofs will arrive for immediate review on the closest US holiday that is not observed in the UK

4yo asked for cheez-its from the store, and now I can't get out of my head (in my best Depeche Mode voice):

The best backhanded compliment I've ever gotten was when a reviewer expressed the wish that a better group might cover one of the songs I wrote

An album I recorded with my college a cappella group is on the @wikipedia front page! (2nd in "Did you know..."). I realize how uncool it is that I'm as excited about this as I am---you don't have to tell me

Thanks to @Graham_Coop---it's been a blast working together on this. Thanks also to @eLife and to our editor there, @magnusnordborg, and to reviewers @amythewilliams, @ShaiCarmi, and anonymous reviewer 3. It was a really constructive review process. (6/6)

And here is another thread by @Graham_Coop explaining the biggest update since the first preprint, showing a proof-of-principle demonstration of one of the attacks we proposed in GEDmatch. This worked as of ~3 weeks ago. twitter.com/Graham_Coop/st… (4/n)

Baby J's favorite thing in the world right now is for me to karaoke "I Can't Make You Love Me." Also, dances to "Love in the Nick of Time" are popular around here
