Amazing California Syrah (with a sploosh of Grenache). A “Rhône” style , yes, but with a decidedly delicious California accent. All hail .

Textbook Bordeaux, with all the right flavors of graphite (pencil), black currant etc etc, but without the stress of a high price tag and the need to cellar it for years. What’s not to like about this ? $14, and a terrific value.

I don’t know who Barry is, or why he’d keep a pet moth, but this is one heck of a nice . Deep and rich, with plummy merlot and great balance. $14, and terrific value.

The Bluestone is back to the creamy oaky style, like the Tarara. I won’t draw any state generalizations from that. 😉 nice texture and body, ripe stone fruit. Nicely done.

I can’t follow this jumble of a thread anymore, so I’ll move on. the Old Westminster Premier Chard ‘16 has more new oak than the Tarara but tastes less oaky. That’s probably because of the 25% steel portion. Well done, Lisa! 👍
