Pennsylvania friends: If you haven't already mailed back your ballot, bring it in to one of your county's official drop-boxes, or its board of elections office ASAP!

Trump appointee Ronald Sanders, life-long Republican, resigns over the president’s order removing job protections for many civil servants: “I simply cannot be part of an Administration that seeks...to replace apolitical expertise with political obeisance."

I think FFCRA is humane and necessary policy, but I don't see this picture as evidence it caused a reduction in COVID-19 infections. The states were already diverging before FFCRA went into effect. Violates the "parallel trends" assumption of quasi-experimental design.

Why is there a picture of a former governor here? How is he relevant?

Love how Cris Peterson gets presented here as a random farmer this reporter went and found, when in fact she's an incredibly well-connected Republican who is a UW System regent (appointed by Scott Walker) and who spoke at this year's RNC

Pennsylvania* tweeps—Do you want to spend the next four years hearing and reading: "If only Pennsylvania had voted for Joe Biden…"? *My birth state, so I have standing.

Written 2 years ago. Still true today. Have to be honest here--for me, this election is personal. Some of you may know that my daughter recently had her third spinal surgery. And, by all accounts, it looks like it's worked out very well.

TRUMP: Stop focusing on CASES!!! also TRUMP: Look at the declining mortality rate! Note 1: He really means "case fatality rate" because the mortality rate is increasing right now. Note 2: Case fatality rate goes down as cases go up.

Depends on how you define "negative." What if 95% CI OR(infection) = (.70,1.01)? We need a gold standard Bayesian decision analysis of net benefit including costs of wearing a mask. In my calculation if (P(Infection|No Mask) - P(Infection|Mask)) > epsilon, then I will wear one.

If bars are open and schools are closed; if fans fills stadiums but kindergarteners are on zoom; if billions of dollars are waiting to be used on testing but we say that opening schools is too costly—if these things are happening, we cannot pretend we are prioritizing education.

I would ask: why do schools have closing metrics and restaurants, bars, casinos etc don’t? Instead: prioritize schools by setting metrics determining when to close everything else so schools can stay open!! Priorities are all wrong
