Long-billed Dowitcher on Bowling Green Marsh first thing but flew off. Otherwise 56 Pintail, 34 Shoveler & 74+ Teal. Virtually no waders even towards high tide.

When did THAT happen!?? We can imagine that a lot of people who've already seen it will want to suddenly go see it again!

A ridiculous 56 Med Gulls on the Axe Estuary today. My highest previous count high teens, not sure if there's ever been more than 20. Just dropping out of the sky...

Had a good evening last night giving a talk to the Plymouth branch of on Birding in the Vulture Landscape, always good to meet such a friendly and proactive birding group and to spread the word about vultures!

If you've not done it today, be sure to tomorrow! One of the biggest citizen science project around which provides invaluable data about our garden bird populations.

Under the right tree at the right time, amazing pictures well done . Lesser Spotted Woodpecker is one of the already scarce species in Devon which seem to be dwindling in numbers, be a massive shame if we ever lost this species from the county.

If you have any records from Devon for 2019 enter them into and help add to what is already a great county bird report.

Near perfect conditions for Bird cruise today, sunny skies, with light winds. 1300+ Golden Plover 18+ Red Breasted Mergansers, 300+ Avocets, 6 Sanderling and plenty of Pintail off Lympstone. 100+ Barwits 500+ Blackwits seams like Dunlin everywhere.
