Joshua's trainer, Rob McCracken (not one for pre-fight nonsense): "With respect to Parker and Takam, Povetkin comes from the top-tier." Joshua: "(I feel) tons of pressure. Underneath it all I know what I'm in for."

Of course, what everyone really came for - beyond hearing both fighters insist they're going to win - is the organisers thanking each other for co-operating amid a fight that's going to generate millions

The significantly smaller Povetkin says: "I'm just as strong as Anthony Joshua. When I fought Klitschko I was much weaker, and in much worse shape than I am now. "I really, really want to take these belts back home."

Joshua, speaking at final press conference before Saturday's fight with Povetkin: "There's been a lot of noise around the heavyweight division [surrounding Wilder and Fury]. Coming back [to Wembley] is a blessing; it's time to put on a performance."

Thought Alvarez superb on Saturday, but Hopkins every time. Might give a peak Golovkin a chance, mind

Seems to have been the final round that divides opinion most, which is curious; had it level going into that, and then Alvarez doing enough to win

Actually do it more than I’d like for first rounds, but I’ve never understood or agreed with the apparent obligation to score a winner. If it’s even, it’s 10-10; it’s scoring the closest of rounds one way or the other that contributes to dodgy scores
