Whomever the Electoral College chooses will be POTUS w/ full *constitutional* legitimacy. But whom did the voters really elect to the electoral college? Trump says electors pledged to him, Biden says electors pledged to him. Until that dispute is settled, it’s premature to opine.

Correct. I’m just disagreeing with the idea of a winner ‘having no mandate.’

The winner of a constitutional majority always has a mandate.

No. I’m serious. (I don’t believe Biden won a constitutional majority. I think his supporters ballot-harvested him into appearing to have won. But if the Electoral College chooses him, then he has a duty to try to keep his promises.)

There’s no such thing as the winner of an election ‘having no mandate.’ If you won a constitutional majority, you have a mandate to implement your platform.

Bicameralism is certainly another problem, vis a vis the pre-17A system.

The delays were mostly due to a rule set by Congress requiring a supermajority threshold for states to choose federal senators. Could have been fixed legislatively, didn’t require a constitutional amendment.

So we better be watching out for Trump supporters rioting, looting, and burning stuff, right?

Anyone rushing to the finish—including the media and those with a vested interest in one outcome—are doing a disservice to the country.    Like Vice President Biden has said, democracy “sometimes requires a little patience.”
