Do you suffer from TDS (Tariff Derangement Syndrome)? Ask your doctor about USB4-1913 (chemical name: americanhistory). Warning: Taking USB4-1913 may cause common sense. Side effects include support for tariffs & the gold standard. May spark hatred of income taxes & big gov't

I just want to give a big thanks to for their phenomenal care, service, and business model. This is the way our healthcare system should operate--no third party interference, top quality care, and affordable costs. Free market medicine works.

A bad man, but a surprisingly good president. I’ll take him over any of the current alternatives without hesitation.

I’m good with excises too. While I’m more enthusiastic about collecting them from manufacturers than at the cash register, I’d take either over income taxes any day.

Recipe for Pro-Growth Tax Reform 1. Cut income tax rates. 2. Raise tariffs. 3. Repeat until income tax is history. 5. Enjoy your newly enhanced freedom and prosperity. Serves 320 million plus descendants. (and that's a good thing!)

President Trump gets it on health care! He should run for reelection on a five-word promise: "Health Savings Accounts for all." cc

Indeed. (But to be fair to Twitter, I've been tweeting a lot less of late, and more often in the wee hours.)

Okay, maybe tariffs didn't 'build' America. (This is Twitter, remember!) But I'd say they did play a nontrivial role in America's rapid growth and rise to power. And, I'd argue, they played a positive role. The 19th c. formula of 'gold + tariffs + small gov't' worked.

The average level of federal peacetime outlays in the 19th c. was 3% of GDP & budgets were balanced. Currently it’s around 20% of GDP w/ chronic deficits. We’d have to shrink the federal footprint to make it feasible to abolish the income tax. But we have proof of concept.
