Fact check: Trump promotes another birther lie, this time about Kamala Harris Facts First: Harris was born in Oakland, California. She meets the Constitution's requirements to serve as vice president or president. There is no serious question about this.

Trump amplifies a birther lie about another Black candidate, says a bunch of other false things about Biden, says his usual false things about mail voting. Fact check with :

I thought this would be a throwaway line the Post turned into a full article, but turns out Trump went into great detail about how he's going to make New York a focus.

This is how Trump does his birther lying - just-asking-questions, maybe-true-maybe-not, check-it-out. It’s garbage.

Trump then goes even further, asking if Harris doesn’t qualify because she wasn’t born in the US. The reporter explains that that’s not what the (again, ridiculous) claim is.

! Trump says he’s just heard today, from a highly qualified lawyer, that Kamala Harris “doesn’t qualify” to serve as VP, is not sure if that’s true or not. That article was absolute nonsense; Harris, born in California, indisputably qualifies.

Asked if he regrets all of the lying he’s done to the American people, Trump doesn’t respond, calls on someone else.

Trump falsely claims that Russia, China, North Korea and Iran can easily “grab” mail ballots or “print forgeries” and “have a field day.” Not at all true. Here’s a thread from an expert:

Trump continues today to misstate things that weren't examples of fraudulent voting to oppose what he calls fraudulent voting. Says people need to vote in person: "We will make sure they're safe," he says. Meantime the pandemic rages, making people feel less safe.

No evidence of fraud in Carolyn Maloney’s primary. There were ballot issues related to missing signatures, postmark problems, and other non-fraud stuff.

Trump then added that maybe he’ll be able to prove this (non-fact) as a fact at some point.

. asks about Trump’s comments about the postal service. Trump says he wouldn’t veto a bill featuring postal funding but also the postal service partly needs all that money to handle ballots nobody knows where they’re coming from. (They come from voters.)

Trump: "We have a lot of other interesting things going on with other nations also having to do with peace agreements. And a lot of big news is coming over the next few weeks. And I'm sure you'll be very impressed."

This is not Trump being asked questions and ad-libbing about Biden - he came out to read a prepared speech attacking Biden.
