like every other product reviewer, I have an S10+ in hand. it comes with a screen protector preinstalled. complete with a hole in the middle for the fingerprint scanner.

Hmm, mine doesn't have a screen protector on it. there was a typical Samsung film that is on everything, including the sides, but no screen protector.

maybe someone pre-peeled it off for you? this one is definitely from the factory

Ha, maybe it did then. I figured it was the standard film and removed it. Guess I needed my reading glasses on at the time. If it was a screen protector, it was dang weak since it felt like a film. I'll check the box where I put it back into.

i’m more concerned with dust/grossness getting trapped around the edges of the cutout. also it’s very flimsy and cheap feeling. not something that’s going to last long

yes, it’s very flimsy. will not last very long. but given the cutouts… Samsung does expect most people will not remove it.

i’ll note that this factory screen protector is SUPER flimsy — it’s basically one tick past packaging film. i don’t think it will last long with daily use. but given the cutouts in it, Samsung clearly expects most people will keep it on.

I'm pretty sure it was just a packing plastic and it's designed to give you a good idea of where the scanner works.

you're not a normal customer that hopes they can use their phone for two+ years without scratching the display. most people will see it as a free screen protector.

That was a screen protector? I didn't think twice and took it off along with the stuff on the sides and rear.

it ended up peeling off pretty easily in my pocket, so it does seem like it’s mostly packing material. but given the cutouts, i would have zero surprise if customers kept it on in the hopes of avoiding scratches

it’s thin like protective film, yes. it won’t stay long. but given that samsung _went out of its way to make cutouts for the camera and fingerprint scanner_, i suspect many customers will leave it on in hopes of avoiding screen scratches
