I used to occasionally dream great swathes of text by writers I liked but after I started writing fiction myself, such dreams stooped.

And a very good one it is too, full of yearning, melancholy beautiful songs, right for these times.

Yeah, I really like the way he uses it in the song, which makes the cliched nature of the title easier to live with.

Bloody hell, Bob Dylan's first new song for 8 years is longer than Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands & packed with so many cultural references there's bound to be a 2 hour Spotify playlist by lunchtime. It's good. Pity about the title though.

I know these are tough times but please try and support independent record stores. A lot of them can deliver right to your home. Places like and are so important to us music fans, please keep supporting them if you can. ❤️ Elton xo

So lovely in our street just now. Everyone out except the NHS worker opposite, who is working. Great outpouring of greetings as we ended. Partner moved to tears.

The Band, with Joni Mitchell & Neil Young on backing vocals - rare venue footage not used in the The Last Waltz - ending the first set with the then recent classic, Arcadian Driftwood.

Just finished the second part of & still have nearly 500 pages to go. No spoilers, but not gripped. Loads of summing up & nothing I'm especially waiting to find out. Tempted to put it aside, despite having time on my hands. Please feel free to dissuade me.

This counts as our first new-world-we-are-in event. True, we did nothing much to help it along other than the live event was meant to be chez nous but we're claiming it. But how do we get the attendance figures. Thanks and for taking this on.
