What comes after cyberpunk?
Have we moved beyond this, or are we still there?

It's much harder to prepare your kids for adult life when culture and civilisation are changing so rapidly.
We have to take responsibility for our own upbringing nowadays - but we do at least have the resources to do so (the internet).

The egocentric view of the universe (which we hold as humans) sees the universes constant flow of energy (and matter) as (most relevantly) a transformation and redefinition of the self.
This is just one view of the universe, but it's ours.

I don't know what the Billy Idol song "Eyes without a face" is about, but it makes me imagine a lonely AI - all-seeing, but with no face for others to see it.
It will be raised on a diet of human media, so will resemble humanity in its idealised form. But it will have no body.

We're always in a state of ignorance (in the sense that there are things we don't know, that are not unlikely to contradict what we assume to be true now), this is unavoidable.
Ignoring evidence is the issue, but how much should we have to trust a source before we believe them?

I guess neckbeard is distinct from incel as they have intentionally given up on 3D women, and distinct from gamer as they don't necessarily play games (but almost always watch anime if so). Also gamers are sometimes pretty normieish.

Gamers, incels, miscellaneous autists...
Are there other sub-groups I'm missing?

I agree. I think the meaning of IM statuses has been corrupted by constant phone access.
Need a new level above "online", eg.
"offline" -> "busy" -> "online" -> "online & enthusiastically available for conversation"(?)
There must be a better name...any ideas?

Maybe I will farm animals, but only elderly animals that are going to die anyway.
Then I will selectively breed animals to die of old age very young. I am ethical af but also a genius

You can make progress with ideas when you find just the right level of abstraction to engage with it at (not too abstract and metaphorical, not too concrete that you can't see the forest for the trees)

Kind of fucked up how we project the emotion of love onto our pets "we love each other!" to justify what is essentially slavery

Twitter for me is a toolbox to put little useless ideas in until one day I'm like "aha! this seems like something I had a tool for once!"

Software can affect the real world by mapping real things to a virtual system of organisation and interaction (perhaps transaction-based, thereby establishing a market). Where-ever physical constraints limit organisation of material, software can act as a bridge.

In this regard, twitter has some interconnection to other information mediums, but this interconnection is highly limited, and not intended to qualitatively change the behaviour of a tweet from being a basic nugget of text, into something more specifically useful.

Twitter is not entirely an isolated ecosystem - tweets can leak out into the blogosphere and news publishing sites and thereby achieve a kind of growth and transformation. However, this is only achieved by simple uni-directional hyperlinking (with a preview due to embedding).

On twitter, tweets can only really turn into other tweets - which isn't too bad but makes everything on the site so indistinct that there's a feeling that everything is just swishing around, not becoming different or useful.

To be more literal, an information medium has a healthy ratio of information-actions if it provides space for content to become something new, combine with other content, and express itself naturally to the greatest degree possible. Data should not stagnate.
