Weird, yes. It's also another PR tactic to avoid addressing the issues of harassment, abuse, and fraudulent male feminists. Why does Joost's wife have to deal with the shit he created for himself and others? This was never about the Yoast the company, Marieke, or women CEOs

Interesting to read 2011 comments from . That was how I remembered the reaction to Jane's points, seoktoberfest bunnies and "sexiest women in tech" articles. Ppl didn't approve. But Jane still got slated in industry backchannels and little changed

The entire industry deserves to give an apology for the reaction she got for highlighting this in 2012. Sorry Jane.

But, the out of context Yoast tweets aside, someone can't condemn sexual harrassment and then hang out with people they know were paw happy at conferences and have never atoned for it. That's hypocrisy and that is what I can see the general point on.

I find 99% of the time anyone who writes something in the connection message are usually just trying to flog something.

It's really disturbing me how quiet 'top' SEOs have been since the publication of this article. I'm fairly new to this community, but what I've seen over the last week has sickened me. Highly recommend reading this piece if you haven't already:

Rise of the normies. And the normies are super busy. They have shit to do AND they just saw Weintein, metoo and the rest of it unfold. They're frowning on what looks like old-boys'-club protectionism. And that's a cultural clash that isn't resolving well in digital marketing /end

Here’s a little context around what triggered and motivates 's mission to see real progress how men treat women in SEO and tech.

So reassured to see how many people are willing to "Bring the conversation forward" just as calls for in this article. It's a shame it needs to happen at all, but ignoring it is not an option.

The thing about saying something is irrelevant because it was “a long time ago” is that everything becomes “a long time ago” if you wait long enough And I did bring this up to the community “a long time ago”. It was distorted and discounted the same as today. Anyway. As you were

I think they just want to move the conversation. Anything but talk about the real issues that the majority of us want to talk about.

"How come nothing's been said recently about harassment at conferences? Must not be true!" Is this from just 3 months ago not recent enough?

In case you haven’t caught up yet with Giselle Navarro’s piece in Medium about sexual harassment in the industry, here’s your chance to read and learn about things that affect us and make our industry less attractive.

A healthy and productive discussion is happening here as result of 's story "...I was the one being labelled as an expert and other people were trying to engage with me. But one day I decided to walk away from all that." by

Saying something to the effect of, "I can't, because... secrets." is very confusing and (I'd argue) a deviation from the norm here? I'd just like to learn more. Not looking to argue with anybody.

I have always been super wary of social numbers for getting link ideas but never thought there was no correlation. Interesting stuff.
