Actually this is a great idea, and it's backed by all the science literature in the field of suicideology. I'll providers both medical and mental health need to get more comfortable discussing lethal means safety with their patients, bottom line.

Addendum to this: There are provisions in the Mission Act that allow some urgent/walk-in care visits without prior VA authorization. But vets must already be in the VHA system to eligible and have seen a VA doctor in the last two years. Doc must be in VA's network.

We are trying to be proactive with this bill as our son was post911. We’d like to see the VSO’s get more proactive in reaching out to their pre-911 folks and come up with some options.
