Memory gets written that shouldn't. Not in debug but in -Ox. Checked w gdb and it isn't really in our code. So gcc?

perhaps, or some third party libs. do you compile it on a raspi or cross compile?

on a raspi, but I'm considering setting it up on a Mac instead. Compile times are a bit long.
