Agree completely. Closed loop via has changed my son's life. So glad options are coming for everyone.

after being threatened by members of two open access projects I think both should be regulated and overseen by fda

It's great news as it makes looping available to the many, not just the few!

Shame small children, who are the hardest to manage, are not even being run clinical trial with with 670G

Would be awesome to hear what the reason behind the 8U daily limit is. OpenAPS works well with much less.

From what MDT said the algorithm just hasn't been tested on enough kids. They're doing a 7-14yo trial now.

Wonder if they understand Nightscout-style remote monitoring could speed the testing hugely

I think even when the 670G is the _only_ pump by Medtronic, will thrive. It’s still a year(s) out, and costly for most

That said - when I upgrade to the 670 (been trying to get in a trial), more than happy to get my 723 to a new Looper

What I'm trying to figure is, where does the minimum requirement come from?

This would exclude even adults on very low carb diets, for whom an AP can work extremely well.
