Was trying to come up with an english translation for the word "मोह". And I suddenly realised how difficult it is. "Endearment" is the nearest possible choice, but far from satisfactory. Language, any language, at its heart, resists translation.

It was irritating even before his defeat. Rahul Gandhi cannot afford to be a third rate comedian-cum-hater like Kunal Kamra.

This is very common. Thankfully I have had great mentors who have allowed me to think independently, and even disagree with them.

If an 81-year old Farooq Abdullah is a threat to public safety, then the Modi govt has no grip on security in Kashmir. This also confirms what I have always maintained: revocation of 370 does nothing for enhancing security; it should have still gone because it was discriminatory.

Oh my resources are the senior grad students here at MIT. But you can install R and “Swirl” package and get going. The package has easy to learn tutorials.

I’m learning R.Hasn’t been difficult so far. But I’ve benefited from doing C,Java,a bit of C++ before. Some bits of HTML/DHTML/XML as well. Coding is not just to make software or perform calculations. It opens up your brain; helps you break down a problem and think systematically.

But they aren’t doing anything for the economy, are they?

The government has one job: to repair the economy. But I think that’s the only thing they aren’t interested in. They are interested in all sorts of divisive, polarizing and irrelevant issues instead.

I want to see if India begins to prepare pitches that support fast bowling a little more given that we have best fast bowlers in the world right now.

Thanks, Kanav. The sequence matters. I agree. But because Bhutan did not put out a public statement that hinted disagreement with India, I will have to code it as collective defense. I know it is also a problem of methodology-- having to necessarily code it one way or the other.

Valid points. But don’t you think that the bar for qualifying as an intervention is much higher? After all, India didn’t distinctly favour any clearly identified domestic group over the other by getting involved in Doklam.
