Picked up a classic text, mainly for the chapter on estimating performance. But, more importantly, used for the first time: what a great service 😍

Hello. Each month we receive 3 or 4 posted letters telling us we've been charged an account fee (£5.50). Is there a way to stop getting these letters posted out? Getting them not at all, or via email would be great.

I’d incorrectly assumed it was a longer term accumulation -> “The majority of the [carbon] burning has come in the last 25 years. Since the end of the second world war, the figure is about 85%.”

Hello 👋 Looking at the Gatro low fat foods for dogs, for a 7.5kg normal weight, we calculate 1 can wet plus 30g dry a day will be about right. Sound reasonable? Workings attached!

Wonderful! Good luck. Probably a FAQ: what’s the connection (or difference) to Dignity in Dying?

Great BSA event tonight on plastics. Biodegradable, bioplastics, compostable all tricky. I don’t have them clear in my head. But: reuse not recycle is better. Also had a game of scientist top trumps.

Over the next few months, I'll be running the Advanced Type Mechanics course—everything about Scala types—across Europe. As a minimum: Berlin, London, Paris and Warsaw. I'll announce dates soon, but don't hesitate to DM me if you'd like to fully understand Scala's type system!

Recall the (apocryphal?) perfect tank detector from the 90s? My new favourite version is from 41:20 in A system keying decisions off MRI watermarks. Would be good to be able to cite that. Anyone know of a write-up?
