Looking for a crew of at least 3 people that would want to comb out cashmere goats the first part of March for a week.
Housing and meals provided. Some pay.
Southwest Wyoming two hours east of Salt Lake City, UT.
Would make a great Ag learning vacation!

Male vendors who are dismissive towards female customers... do they just not get that women own/manage/often are the logistics behind the head if not the head... ?

I work every day on making sure people locally can access locally produced food. The point *is* to feed as many people. What do you do? Lol

Hey @HydroConsultant you worked on some amazing projects to help people in urban or challenging climates grow fresh produce. Thoughts on expansion of your technology to help urban areas grow more ‘local’ food...

I am fascinated. I admit. This is a new argument that Local Food systems movements are anti-foreigners. Many are actually about improving accessibility and affordability *to* vulnerable communities. pic.twitter.com/dazqJHu824

Foreigners aren’t bad. Certain individuals can be. Not sure why you’re going for that angle. I guess to fluff up more of your troll bots. I admit, that lowered my respect for you in this whole thread. We can all have different views in a discussion and still be respectful. 🤷🏻♀️

What is important is considering each value chain and look at what is appropriate locally. What makes people more food secure. What can be done better locally/not. How do we make it available and make sure those who produce or are directly impacted by production are also ok. /

Each food item has a different a value chain with different players and environmental impacts. By growing it somewhere else, *is* there accountability? Varies. There is a balance between local and not local that is healthy. It isn’t an absolute thing either way. 2/

Local food systems are often a means of trying to help improve accessibility & availability to vulnerable populations. Most movements have a strong social justice approach to farm workers as well. By purchasing local, the goal tends to be to have accountability. 1/

Plants use distributed intelligence. It is different then animals, but is it any less interesting or important? No. Because a plant has an intelligence, does it mean I don’t eat it? No. I am an omnivore and respect all of them. I also eat them.
