"If you fuck up here, the consequences are extremely serious. You will be on the street."
I spent some time in South Africa and saw first-hand that founders in the developing world have a passion others don't. @alexprocter101 is chief among them. 🔥

As a developer, the siren song of building that next feature (instead of marketing or selling) is always calling.

"Sometimes businesses fail because founders fail to persist."
But other times, you need to know when to quit. 🤷🏿♂️
Jane Portman (@uibreakfast) shares her story of moving on from one SaaS business, but sticking with another to see it through to success. 📈

Fellow bootstrappers!
I just published "Zero to Sold", a 25.000-word guide to starting, running, and selling a sustainable bootstrapped business.

If you read at 130 words per minute without taking any breaks to sleep, eat, or anything else, it would take you 5½ days to read all the interviews on @IndieHackers. 📚

I usually wake up after about 6 or 7 hours, very hard for me to sleep for 8 no matter how dark it is

That's me for sure, but it's the same if you wake up early enough, 3-4am. In fact it's a bit better, because when I'd stay up late, there was always a pang of guilt, a voice saying, "You really should go to bed." But when I'm up early, I get the dark without the guilt.

I don't have one really. Wake up, try not to stay in bed, and start working immediately. I usually have something I'm excited to work on.

We'll see!
Yes, social life has improved, bc I'm done with work far earlier in the day, and feel more comfortable making social commitments. Less drinking, more dinners or midday hangs, because I want to get to bed earlier.
Cooking lots of meals lately thanks to @HelloFresh

Take advantage of the quiet early mornings when nobody else is awake to do focused work, meditation, or whatever it is you need to do that's best done without distractions

1. I have a ton of energy in the morning through midday. The hardest part is just stopping, I get addicted.
2. Not having my laptop or phone in my bedroom. Then lying in bed is boring. But no big deal anyway if you lie in bed for a bit if you're waking up at 3-4am
