Do not even get me started with this behavior in corporate America especially around Ft. Lauderdale.

I know cars that you have to remove the wheel and the wheel liner to get access to the screws that hold the tail light in place. All this to change a light bulb. Italian engineering at its finest

But I must confess I fixed my washing machine after watching a video on YouTube. Replaced the motor and BAAMMMM worked.

Not saying it is not enough. Never said that. You are the one that started with the 'skills-do-not-matter-thanks-to-YouTube-and-PirateBay-PDF-ebooks'.

You do have that visibility. Either control the 'freebie' based on the actual date they start using it or measure it in another way (i.e. second billing) that allows you to set a cap based on the estimated real usage on the platform required to evaluate it. No rocket science

So yes, at the end, being an SME is still key. Certainly with other skills on top of that but there is no way you can be whatever you want to call it without having the expertise.

It was ALWAYS a required skill. Thing is with much more centralized IT as back in the day, that was sort of ignored and you could get by without it. Today not the case especially with the IT as a Service mindset (what is good as IT was always SERVING someone but forgot that).

Well we all, as experienced EUC people, I assume do have a clear understanding how long it should take based on the environment size. Also just by the size you can accurately predict how much bureaucracy they deal with. Just adjust accordingly. No rocket science.

Agreed. Also you can easily spot who is in the community for the community and who is in for nothing but personal gains and exposure.
