Name one profession whose members wouldn’t love to have absolute immunity for their misconduct. And many could make at least as strong a case for it. But only prosecutors are above the law when it comes to civil liability. So they’re really into accountability—for everybody else. twitter.com/quasiasher/sta…

Love the result, but wow, what blatant Establishment and EP violation. Here’s a hot take: maybe require govt to have a compelling justification for putting ANYBODY in a cage.

There’s two kinds of people who work in criminal justice: those who can’t for the life of them imagine why an innocent person would confess to a crime he didn’t commit, and those who know perfectly well why that happens—and that it happens routinely. Routinely.

The fraction of uninsured Americans today is only slightly lower than it was prior to the Affordable Care Act, but the average health insurance premium is almost double.

See the link. Extrapolation from estimated figures supplied by DOJ official. Of course, it’s only possible to estimate because law enforcement doesn’t even keep track of how many humans they kill, let alone dogs.

“I was just enforcing the law” in the 21st century is the moral equivalent of “I was just following orders” in the mid-20th—it’s an explanation, NOT an excuse. twitter.com/theintercept/s…

Coercive plea bargaining is a cancer on the criminal justice system. Jury independence—aka nullification—is the most promising cure. Which is why prosecutors are DESPERATE to prevent jurors/potential jurors from being told about it. reason.com/2020/02/03/thi…

-->Nope, just business as usual in a system that's hacked the constitutionally prescribed mechanism for adjudiating criminal charges and operates more as a giant wood-chipper than anything that deserves to include the word "justice" in its name.
-->F-this, I'm going in.

My path to full-time CJ reform from public interest (civil) constitutional litigation was roughly this:
-->Whoa, what the hell's going on over there? I'd better go have a look.
-->WTAF??? Is this some kind of zombie apocalypse, is that why there's no discernabile due process? /1
