My first thought is that your conception of the Type of Person changes as you gain experience.
Substituting the identity for the goal means you no longer feel like the identity needs to change, because you’re no longer gaining the experience that changes you.

The main trick is thinking about lucid dreaming ao obsessively that those thoughts start to happen in dreams.
Also, waking up early for 30-45 minutes and then going back to bed for another hour or two usually does the trick for me.
