Just read Snow, Glass, Apples from and . Pure excellence. Highly recommend. I didn't know what to expect from it other than it is an inverted fairy tale. I didn't expect vampirism or other themes in the book. Fantastic read but not for a young audience

That's true. I was hoping for a different outcome for the story but it doesn't diminish the story at all. Perfect for Halloween reading.

I remember a live reading of this story in Toronto (by Neil Himself, no less) decades ago. I knew he could go “dark”, but that was next level for these virgin ears.

Oh yeah this story was dark lol. It does remind me that I need to read my copy of Norse Mythology sometime. Different genre but maybe there is darkness in that one too. Colleen's art did serve as a contrast though since the art is so beautiful.
