It’s a mystery to me how you manage this without burning out. Thanks a ton for all your work!

yeah it was close but my need for it went away so I didn’t look into it further.

iirc I never got that working properly. github.com/nikita-volkov/… has the details in the comments.

Great to see @cocreature and others' work on the DAML developer experience benefitting the wider community. DAML's ghcide (github.com/digital-asset/…) and HIE (github.com/haskell/haskel…) are joining forces!

Haskell-ide-engine and Ghcide teams are joining forces to work on a single Haskell IDE. See neilmitchell.blogspot.com/2020/01/one-ha… for details. With @cocreature, @alan_zimm and many contributors from both sides.

It's time to say thank you and good night to everyone who I had the pleasure of welcoming to Bristol this weekend. Lots of inspiring projects. Just time for one last performance improvement to ghcide before bed - github.com/haskell/networ…

We were lucky to encounter a misty atmospheric day for the first day of the Bristol Hackathon. Thanks to all the attendees for coming from far and wide! pic.twitter.com/1gRRcbA3oZ

The cabal file on master recently added `-rtsopts` but it hasn’t made it into a release so far.

github.com/rfjakob/earlyo… at least makes the oom killer behave better. The -H RTS option also helps

You can fix index-state in addition to the freeze file to get that cabal.readthedocs.io/en/latest/nix-… (it would still be nice if freeze did this itself)

Right now no but all the building blocks for that are there. It’s just a matter of switching it on. This kind of caching is already active for completions, we just didn’t turn it on for everything at once since it was a new feature.

Hopefully we’ll be able to combine the two in some form at some point.

HIE is older and has more features but is more complex to install and a bit slower. ghcide is much newer, has less features but is a bit easier to install (fewer deps and they are on hackage) and it’s often a bit faster.

Yep, we built ghcide at @digitalassetcom Asset and use hie-bios so there has been a lot of fruitful collaboration with HIE and other projects. Hopefully even more in the future.

Working in a blazing fast ghcide with dot syntax from record-dot-preprocessor makes it almost hard to believe this is Haskell. I feel like when I first encountered IntelliJ fifteen years ago. Thanks @cocreature, @ndm_haskell and everyone else.
