.: “I didn’t change. Do I think the political landscape is becoming more progressive? Yes and I think it’s a fantastic thing. Do I think that advocates and activists are never going to be satisfied by definition?

. really got to the central question this am: "Bill de Blasio is getting a lot more heat from the left than the right. Not tough enough on police some say, too compliant with big business Amazon. Not enough affordable housing guarantees for the lowest income NYers.

8. Less “use of force” – Be serious. NYers of color subjected to NYPD force/violence don’t believe this, & any stats cited are from NYPD. More to point out, but wld take hours...Big picture, de Blasio has turned clock backwards on NYPD transparency/accountability.

7. Less sqf – Credit for NYC’s drop in reported stops is because of the police accountabilty movement @ calls “fringe activists”, not bc of de Blasio. Drop started b4 BdB came into office. + even the federal Monitor sez NYPD is under-reporting stops.

6. Neighborhood policing, more diversity – This is NYPD PR/spin, not accountability or transparency. NYers of color are still abused, violated & over-policed on a daily basis by NYPD (Jazmine Headley & too many others).

5. NYPD “discipline overhaul” – Uhm, what?! ZERO cops been fired for . Mayor won’t even release the names of cops who brutally attacked Jazmine Headley. cc:

4. NYPD crisis/de-escalation training – GTFOH. Again, training is close to useless w/out accountability. And.. really shouldn’t be bragging abt this.

NYPD bias training – Uhm, seriously? NYPD didn’t start anti-bias training when BdB claimed (in fact the first round of curricula was scrapped), and police training is close to useless without accountability.

2. NYPD bodycams don’t promote accountability, the policy is subpar, and no footage can be shared w/public bc police union was able to use NYPD/Mayor's own arguments to file litigation to block public access to footage.

Wow. spokesperson who called critics of NYPD/Mayor "fringe activists" now trying to claim de Blasio has fixed NYPD. Let's break this down, point by point. 1. de Blasio's NYPD is WORSE than Giuliani & Bloomberg on transparency/shielding abusive cops.
