The origins of this theory stems from a thesis that all reality is an illusion, or at least a projection of one's perspective. For example "The πŸ¦‹Butterfly Dream" has a character that doesn't know if they dreamt they were a πŸ¦‹ butterfly or a πŸ¦‹ butterfly dreaming they were a man

The simulation hypothesis is states that all of reality is an artificial simulation. That means that you, the 🌎 Earth, the 🌌 Universe and everything else is part of the simulation.
