it's probably worth pointing out that a few likes on that tweet came from other players in the wasm space 🤔

another benefit to upgrading to 14 LTS in production... you can add the new `eventLoopUtilization()` to your metrics

i just don't know if that would make a good conference talk. it wouldn't be educational or entertaining 😀

i do have the axes but didn't want to include too much information in a public image. that swing in memory with node 12 is only ~10MB

i don't think it was a leak because it never kept rising. just a lot of thrashing

so node 14 entered LTS last week. i gave it a few days to make sure there weren't glaring bugs and updated from v12.18.4 to v14.15.0 this morning. the most interesting difference? external memory usage apparently

the v14 release line enters LTS today as v14.15.0. it's LTS code name is Fermium. read more about it here:

The Bytecode Alliance has been biased since their inception (they rejected intentions of joining based on personal bias). I wish they would keep WASI unbiased. But having seen their track so far, I doubt it. This puts WASI in a questionable long-term position

i made an initial effort when the alliance was announced. it was shot down. i'm not going to stress myself out over it anymore

wasi is an unfair, unwelcoming project that actively discourages any projects outside of the bytecode alliance's inner circle of friends
